Authorities say a mass shooting killing 10 people at a grocery store in Buffalo, NY was a racially motivated hate crime.

Police confirm that ten people have died and that the 18-year-old gunman is in custody. 4 of the victims were shop workers.

The shooting at the Tops supermarket at 1275 Jefferson Avenue was streamed live on Twitch.com† The video shows him shooting a woman in the head shortly after leaving his car in the parking lot, around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, the gunman shot three people at the supermarket. He was dressed in camouflage and wearing body armor. He was carrying a semi-automatic rifle.

The N word is written on the gun barrel in a screenshot of the video. He opened fire in the store and shot shopkeepers as they tried to flee.

Officials say a retired Buffalo police officer who worked as a security guard shot the gunman, but his body armor stopped the bullet. The suspect then shot and killed the guard.

As he walked out of the store to surrender to the police after the massacre, he first put one of the rifles against his chin and dropped it.

The video shows officers taking the gunman into custody while a person is lying on the ground nearby.

A 106-page manifesto allegedly written by the suspect and posted online angered whites who became the minority in America.

If there’s one thing I want you to take away from these writings, it’s that white birth rates need to change,” he wrote. “Every day the white population is getting fewer and fewer.”
