Two people were shot dead, one seriously, in shootings in Chicago on Wednesday.

A man was shot and killed at Back of the Yards on the South Side on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old was walking on block 5300 of South Bishop Street around 12:50 a.m. when someone fired shots, Chicago police said.

He was hit in the shoulder and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

A woman was seriously injured in a shooting in the north Ravenswood neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

At about 2:45 p.m., someone shot the 24-year-old while she was in a backyard of a house on the 2400 block of West Eastwood Avenue, police said.

She suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to a Swedish hospital in critical condition, police said.

Four people were shot dead in Chicago on Tuesday, one fatally.
