4 arrested in drive-by shooting that injured teen in Pomona – Press Enterprise

POMONA — Three men and one juvenile were in custody Wednesday after their arrests on suspicion of attempted murder in Pomona.

Pomona residents Danny Francisco Barquero and Juan Jesus Torres, both 22, Hennessey Rizkalla, 19 and a 16-year-old male juvenile from Riverside were arrested on one count each of attempted murder, said Pomona Police Sgt. Iain Miller.

Pomona officers responded at 6:08 pm Tuesday to the 1400 block of Laurel Avenue regarding a shots fired call and found a 14-year-old juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound, Miller said.

During the course of their investigation officers learned the victim had been wounded in a drive-by shooting when an SUV drove up to him.

While searching the area police spotted a possible suspect vehicle, stopped the SUV in the 1100 block of S. Towne Avenue and detained the suspects.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released, Miller said.

The suspects were booked in the Pomona City Jail.
