A ‘battle bar’ will open in Manchester in June with ax throwing, digital darts and beer pong

A bar offering people the chance to channel their competitive side through ax throwing, digital darts and beer pong will open its doors at Manchester’s Printworks in June. Reportedly the UK’s first and only battle bar, Boom Battle Bar combines food and drink with an ‘entertainment battlefield’ full of competitive games for all ages.

The new 10,000 m² location takes up the space of the Printworks previously occupied by the night bar Lazy Lizard. The plans for a ‘competitive meeting place’ were approved last August.

In addition to beer pong and darts, visitors can challenge their friends to shuffleboard, American pool, arcade games, and even Singa-powered karaoke. Activities are rented out for a fixed period of time so that someone can play alone or with a group of up to eight people.

Richard Harpham, CEO of Boom Battle Bar, said: “We are delighted to be opening bookings for our epic new venue in Manchester. It spans multiple levels and is packed with our most kind of after-games including ax throwing, augmented reality darts and karaoke booths that can accommodate up to 15 people, we just know the people of Manchester will love this venue and the ultimate competitive thrill Boom has to offer.”

The 10,000 m² location will open in the Printworks in mid-June

The Boom Bar will be home to a selection of wines, spirits, draft beers and Battleground cocktails, including ‘Long Island Ice Tee’, Tiki-themed ‘Ship Faced’ and ‘Axepresso Martini’. Drinks come with a selection of Boom Bites ranging from chicken tenders to nachos.

Boom Battle Bar currently has branches in a number of locations in the UK including Bath, Cardiff, Coventry, Watford and Liverpool. Other places of interest to follow include Oxford Street, Edinburgh, Ealing, Southampton and Chelmsford.

Reservations can be made via the website with available time slots for all games. Boom Battle Bar will be open to the public from 17 June.
