Alejandro Garnacho starts in predicted Manchester United vs Brentford lineup

Manchester United youngsters Alvaro Fernandez, Hannibal Mejbri and Alejandro Garnacho could very well get their first Premier League starts against Brentford, but will Ralf Rangnick give big chances to those three or other members of the next generation?

Faced with an almost impossible quest to qualify for the Champions League next season, United will instead have to settle for a spot in the Europa League as Arsenal and Tottenham continue to battle for the top four. United were five points behind Arsenal in fourth place before the final round of the Premier League had played two more games.

As the focus shifts to next season – with Erik ten Hag poised to take over as manager – United have handed cameos to Hannibal and Garnacho in recent games. Hannibal came off the bench to literally make his mark in the embarrassing defeat to Liverpool and Garnacho got a two-minute debut against Chelsea.

Fernandez, Hannibal and Shola Shoretire were left unused in that match. However, the top four are still further away for kick-off against the Bees and that could mean a first start for at least one of those players.

Alex Telles would likely miss out if Fernandez got the wink, while Marcus Rashford could give way if Garnacho gets his chance. Expected returns for Fred and Edinson Cavani (both calf) mean Rangnick still has a few options to appeal.

Harry Maguire (knee) and Jadon Sancho (illness) are among those who will remain on the sidelines. Luke Shaw (leg) and Paul Pogba (calf) may not play again this season, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka (knock) is the other injury as United prepare for their final home game before the summer.

Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs Brentford (4-3-3): de Gea; Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Telles; McTominay, Fred, Fernandes; Elanga, Ronaldo, Garnacho.
