Amanda Seyfried was shocked by guys who asked about the Mean Girls weather forecast: ‘It was just dirty’

Amanda Seyfried told Marie Claire that she was often extrapolated after the release of mean girls because male viewers would approach her asking if it was raining, a reference to the infamous weather forecast scenes in the Tina Feyscripted comedy.

Seyfried’s character in the film, Karen Smith, believes she can predict the weather by holding her breasts.

The actor said guys would come up to her and refer to the scenes, one of which had her soaked in a rainstorm.

“I always felt really bad about that,” Seyfried said of the reaction.

“I was about 18 years old. It was just disgusting.”

Reflecting on what today’s young stars have to go through in the face of social media, Seyfried added: “I think I’m really famous [young] must really suck. It must make you feel completely unsafe in the world. I see these younger actors who think they need to have security. They think they need an assistant. They think their whole world has changed. It can get stressful. I’ve seen it happen to my peers. So I bought a farm. I was like, let’s go the other way.”

Seyfried recently decorated the cover by Varieties Power of Women issue, where she spoke about how important it was to her not to be pigeonholed by the success of mean girls† After the film became a breakthrough for her, in Hollywood she got offers only for “the beautiful blonde.” Then Seyfried made the choice to participate HBO‘s big lovebecause it was a role that was far from Karen Smith.

“At the beginning of my career, if I hadn’t done it” big love“I was going to be Karen Smith,” Seyfried said.

“All the auditions I had for my first pilot season were just blonde girlfriends. I wouldn’t play the lead because for some reason I didn’t fit in. I don’t know what it was.”

Seyfried added: “I remember a movie – I can’t say the name – it was between me and a model for some kind of supporting role. And I thought, ‘Oh God, it doesn’t matter who it is! doesn’t matter, I don’t know if I want to be a part of it.’ But at the same time I wanted to work, and I wanted to work with the actors involved. Fortunately, I then had opportunities that changed quite quickly and I’m grateful for that.”
