Arcade Paradise lets you go from hapless laundromat worker to retro game mogul

Have you ever wanted to just throw in the towel, quit your job and start an arcade?

Boy, have I got the trailer for you:

arcade paradise is a management simulator about turning a dreary job at a laundromat into an arcade-style bustle, and slowly growing that arcade to become the primary activity of the laundromat.

“Wake up, mop, bake, wash, take advantage, sleep,” says the narrator of the trailer, as he walks you through the daily laundromat. An idea arises: the same set of daily goals, with ‘Arcade’ squeezed into it before bedtime. The goal is clearly to start small: a back room in the laundromat converted into an ad hoc arcade. As your business model starts to shift and the game winnings start rolling in, you can start upgrading your arcade to take advantage of it, eventually turning the entire laundromat into a time zone.

Bonus? The games are all playable.

However, it’s the insane, mic-peaking screams of the trailer’s narrator as their new business model comes into focus for me. That man is ready to give up everything for a used car Metal Slug cabinet and I respect it.

Frankly, I’m ready. I’m ready to buy a bunch of cabinets and create a secondary income stream that will make the IRS frown. I’m already a fan of weird job sims, so this is definitely for me.

Arcade Paradise launches on August 11, 2022 for PlayStation and Xbox platforms, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. Nosebleed Interactive is the studio behind it.
