BEVERLY, NJ (CBS) — According to the school district’s website, a school in Burlington County was closed Tuesday due to police activity in the area. The Beverly City School District says they will be closed Tuesday to “ensure everyone’s safety.”
“Due to police activity currently taking place on Bentley Avenue, the Beverly City School District will be closed on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 to ensure everyone’s safety. I apologize in advance for the inconvenience and early communication,” the statement said.

According to Burlington County Dispatch, a barricade started around 1am, but no further information is available at this time.
The 8th grade field trip to Liberty Lakes continues on Tuesday, June 14.

“All 8th graders and staff involved in this trip must report to the Saint Joe’s Church parking lot (opposite Riccardo’s and Sunny’s Food Mart) on Warren Street by 8:15 AM. The promotion exercise for group 8 will still take place on Thursday, June 16 at 4.30 pm,” the statement said.
The students of Palmyra High School have school on Tuesday.
“Thank you in advance for your understanding during this emerging situation, but please understand that the safety of your child and the safety of our staff is our priority and we would not make this difficult decision if we did not consider it absolutely necessary,” the statement said. . †
