SAN DIEGO — The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and firefighters from the North County Fire Protection District are working to contain a vegetation fire in North County, authorities said.
According to an tweet from North County Firethe incident began around 6:39 p.m. near Interstate 15 and Old Highway 395. Cal Fire San Diego Captain Neil Czapinski told FOX 5 the fire started with the overturning of a vehicle in the Deer Springs neighborhood of San Diego.
The sole occupant of the car was taken to hospital, their condition is unknown at this time.

By 7:35 p.m., officials had closed two northbound lanes on I-15 lanes and warned the public to “expect delays.”
