Energy and Infrastructure Minister Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei stated that the ministry, represented by the Zayed Housing Program, has contacted 1,600 citizens to update their housing application records.
This became apparent yesterday during a media briefing organized by the ministry about the characteristics of the new housing policy.
He added that the focus of the program’s work during the first three years of the period (2022-2026) will mainly be on covering the accumulated housing needs of citizens from previous years.
Stressing that the new housing policy recently adopted by the federal government, Al Mazrouei emphasized that it aims to provide multiple financing options and solutions at competitive prices, plans to evolve the customer’s journey, reduce documents required and provide services. noting that there is full coordination between the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure with the Ministry of Finance, by determining financing options, with the financing banks and the guarantees required by the federal government, and determining the costs and the delivery mechanism according to the best possible conditions.
Al Mazrouei stated that the percentage of citizens owning a home in the UAE reached 86.3%, which is one of the highest percentages in the world.
