Fire in Margate: Huge fire breaks out in building near Aldi as smoke rises above area | UK | News

Photos and videos on social media showed a fire near an Aldi in Northdown Road, Margate around 7:15pm. The incident is believed to be a fire in a flat at the Sandhurst Place intersection.

Kent 999s have shared that an air ambulance has landed in Margate.

They reported that the ambulance was probably called in connection with the apartment fire.

Kent Fire and Rescue told Express.co.uk: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a fire at a flat in Sandhurst Place, Margate.

“Four fire trucks were dispatched to the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus tried to extinguish the flames.

“Firefighters also used a smoke screen to prevent the fire from spreading.

“A man was treated by crews for suspected smoke inhalation before being turned over to SECAmb care.

Kent Police officers were also present. The cause has yet to be determined.”
