Fire with two alarms ignited in Willow Glen neighborhood

SAN JOSE — Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire in a Willow Glen neighborhood Saturday night, the San Jose Fire Department said.

The fire was reported just before 5:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Callecita St. Authorities said there were reports that several homes were on fire and others were threatened after some trees caught fire.

Fire Captain Sean Lovens said that “15 trees caught fire and the embers spread through the neighborhood and spread to two houses.”

One of the houses suffered significant damage and the other suffered water damage from the sprinkler system that extinguished the fire, Lovens said.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
