Former British commander Richard Kemp has assessed what Russian President Vladimir Putin’s future plans might be in Ukraine and abroad.
Colonel Kemp spoke to Sky News Australia and discussed the latest happenings in Eastern Europe.
“I think probably eastern Ukraine and the whole coast of Ukraine is probably what he wants out of Ukraine in the first place,” he said.
“But maybe he wants more.
“And sure, I think he’d want more elsewhere.”
Colonel Kemp said President Putin is likely “to push for some sort of aggression” in the Baltic states “if given the chance”.
“This clearly threatens NATO and really threatens the prospect of nuclear war,” he said.
