Bill Gates has tested positive for COVID-19 and says he has experienced mild symptoms amid being fully vaccinated and boosted.
The 66-year-old announced his diagnosis on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon in a series of tweets. Gates said he is isolating on expert advice until he is healthy again.
He said in a tweet: “I am very fortunate to have been vaccinated and boosted and to have access to testing and great medical care.”

The billionaire philanthropist’s Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has donated $1.75 billion to fight the COVID pandemic and develop vaccines to fight the virus, particularly to give poorer countries access.
Gates warned earlier in April 2018 that the world was not ready to handle a pandemic.
Speaking at an event hosted by the Massachusetts Medical Society and the New England Journal of Medicine, he said: “This failure should concern all of us, because history has taught us that another deadly global pandemic will come.
