LONDON (Reuters) – Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has confirmed that a failure could cost his team the Premier League title.
City beat Brighton by three goals without a reaction, all of which came in the second half, to retake the lead, one point ahead of number two Liverpool.
Guardiola said: “There are still six games to go and if we win all the games we are champions, and if we don’t win all the games Liverpool will be champions.”
Guardiola added: “It happened three years ago when we took 14 consecutive wins and became champions… Liverpool will win all their games but I don’t need to tell the players that, they feel it, we are fighting one of the best team ever.”
The Spanish coach concluded: “We only have one month, maybe five weeks. After eleven months, we are a month on the road. We will do everything we can to be the best in these games.”
