Several beautiful Wicklow homes will feature on the brand new property show ‘Selling Ireland’s Dream Homes’, which kicks off on RTÉ2 on Monday 28 November at 9.30pm.
running through four hour-long episodes, the series will give viewers a glimpse into some of Wicklow’s most quirky, unusual and pricey properties. The show will feature luxury homes for sale in Garden County, featuring everything from converted carriage houses to Georgian mansions.
Viewers will meet the owners lucky enough to live in these prestigious properties, as well as the real estate agents in charge of selling their homes. Interviews with interior designers, architectural historians, antique dealers and other experts bring the stories of the houses to life.
Episode one of the new series is about Oak Lodge, a beautifully converted coaching inn in Cullen Upper, Kilbride, Wicklow Town. This three bedroom, two bathroom bungalow was built in the 1980’s and is surrounded by approximately 4.5 acres of beautiful mature gardens and farmland. Could this beautiful property be one of the few homes in Ireland with no room for improvement?
Standing on beautiful grounds, just steps from Bray in Rathmichael, “Kildarick” will be featured in episode two of the show. This contemporary, five-bedroom detached home is the brainchild of interior designer and color consultant Regina Rogers Fallon.
Nestled behind a clearing of mature trees, the property has been completely redesigned in a very contemporary way, with bold colours. Oh, and it also has a putting green complete with bunker. Because why not?
Program three features a trio of enchanting Wicklow houses, each set in a unique, scenic setting.
By far the most intriguing among them is the home of film director and visionary John Boorman ‘The Glebe’, which is currently on the market for a cool €2,750,000. Mr Boorman has lived at The Glebe for over 50 years and has raised seven children on the 50 acre estate.
Built in 1816, the three-storey Late Georgian Parish House features four reception rooms, five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Located next to the village of Annamoe, the Avonmore River flows through the estate for about half a mile and includes a famous swimming hole, replete with diving board.
Viewers will also be introduced to the luxurious six-bedroom ‘Kundera’. Described as “a dream piece of bling in a home below the Sugarloaf,” the signature Kilmacanogue property comes complete with a home theater, tennis court, gym, sauna, meditation pool, two kitchens and a wine cellar.
No expense has been spared in this decadent €2,750,000 property. There are Versace Gold tiles and bespoke designer bathrooms with Villeroy & Boch and Hans Grohe fixtures. It features solid wood floors, wardrobes with Swarovski stud handles and a beautiful main kitchen designed by Siematic with Gaggenau and Miele appliances.
Last but not least is ‘Mervyn’, a modernized five-bed house that has been described by showrunners as “the coolest playroom in Enniskerry”. This tasteful 1870’s home boasts some of the most breathtaking Irish sea views around.
The understated property includes a west-facing partially walled garden, tennis court and four stables, with lawns that can be converted into pasture.
