A man has been hospitalized after being allegedly stabbed in the buttocks by a group of men in western Sydney overnight.

A man has been hospitalized after being allegedly stabbed in the buttocks by a group of men in western Sydney overnight.

Police were called around 7:15 p.m. Thursday after reports of an attack in a shopping center parking lot on McFarlene Street in Merrylands.

It is alleged that a 19-year-old man was involved in a brawl with a group of five other men.

The men – who police say were armed with a baton and a knife – reportedly stabbed him in the buttocks before fleeing the scene in a white BMW.

The 19-year-old man was taken to Westmead Hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police are looking for five men seen in the area who may be able to assist in their investigation.

A spokesman for the NSW Police said they are described as having a Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance with black hair.
