Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are “trying to create an alternative, awake royal family,” according to self-proclaimed royal expert Angela Levin.
Levin – a noted biographer of Prince Harry and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall – claims the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are enveloping themselves in “greatness and splendor that surrounds them” after the royals announced an upcoming trip to the UK.
The pair are scheduled to visit Harry’s hometown and Germany next month for three charity events.
Harry, 37, and Markle, 41, last visited the UK in June to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebrations with their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1.
However, their impending trip seems to have raised the eyebrows of many, especially Levin, who noted the “strange time” of their visit.
“Harry and Meghan are coming to the UK for ‘charities close to their hearts’. Will the Queen be in Balmoral and William in the US for Earthshot? Is this part of an attempt at an alternative royal family?” Levin tweeted Monday: “Strange time different for H’s ‘bombshell’ memoir.”
“Certainly, if someone is afraid for their safety, they should keep a secret of what they are doing and where they are. Otherwise it’s more hypocrisy,” she wrote in a follow-up tweet.
Elsewhere, Levin told the Daily Mail that she thinks the Sussexes are “very determined to show that their way is the best way”.
“I’ve long thought that Harry and Meghan are trying to create an alternative royal family, the grandeur and the splendor that surrounds them,” she said.
“They are people who are determined to show that their way is the best.”
Levin claimed that Meghan “doesn’t like to lose” and “feels enormous bitterness and resentment towards the royal family for not letting her modernize the royal family”.
The author noted that while the Sussexes don’t want to be royals, “they stick to their titles very, very tightly”.
