‘Missed opportunity’: Matthew Guy’s ‘failure’ to take on Dan Andrews

Wasted opportunities and not standing up and campaigning for the real issues with a little fire are the summaries of Matthew Guy’s election campaign for the Liberal state, says Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton.

Mr Houghton addressed the Sky News-Herald Sun People’s Forum between Victorian Prime Minister Daniel Andrews and State Opposition Leader Matthew Guy.

Mr Houghton said Prime Minister Andrews was “tearing up” Mr Guy on issues of corruption, integrity and budget costs and that the opposition leader is not fighting back.

“If you want to be Prime Minister and run one of Australia’s largest states, you can’t sit back and let someone discredit your costing and say you’re talking rubbish,” said Mr Houghton.

“Who told him to turn around and not defend himself in the middle of the only debate Victorians would see.”
