NSW Police warn Macksville community of allegedly armed man threatening people

NSW Police has warned mid-north coast residents that an armed man is reportedly on the loose and threatening people.

The police force warned the Macksville community in a 1.26pm tweet that the man was traveling towards the town.

“A police operation is underway in Macksville, following reports a man armed with a firearm has threatened a number of persons,” the tweet said.

“He is believed to be traveling between Bowraville and Macksville in a gold Mazda 323 with rego WGB 812.”

A police spokeswoman said at 2.45pm the operation was still ongoing and urged the community to remain cautious.

It wasn’t clear who the man was or whether the people he allegedly threatened were known to him.

People were urged to call triple-0 if they saw him.
