One killed, one injured in truck crash on Taft Highway [Bakersfield, CA]

Vehicle Collision Near Buena Vista Road Left One Fatality

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 17, 2022) – Monday morning, a truck accident on Taft Highway killed an 80-year-old woman and injured a teenager.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. near Buena Vista Road.

Bakersfield Police said a pickup truck and a semi-truck collided. Due to the force of the impact, the pick-up also collided with a power pole.

Emergency services arrived at the accident scene shortly after and pronounced the 80-year-old female driver of the pickup dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the 19-year-old passenger in the pickup suffered moderate injuries, it is unclear whether or not they were hospitalized.
