Vehicle Collision Near Buena Vista Road Left One Fatality
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 17, 2022) – Monday morning, a truck accident on Taft Highway killed an 80-year-old woman and injured a teenager.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. near Buena Vista Road.
Bakersfield Police said a pickup truck and a semi-truck collided. Due to the force of the impact, the pick-up also collided with a power pole.
Emergency services arrived at the accident scene shortly after and pronounced the 80-year-old female driver of the pickup dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the 19-year-old passenger in the pickup suffered moderate injuries, it is unclear whether or not they were hospitalized.
No further details about the truck accident on Taft Highway are available at this time. However, investigators are actively trying to figure out the events leading up to the collision. Witnesses are encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department as soon as possible.
