Police: Man hit repeatedly with gun in Queens Village robbery

QUEENS VILLAGE, Queens (WABC) — Police are investigating a man who committed a violent robbery in Queens.

Detectives say he approached the victim from behind and hit him repeatedly with a gun on Friday morning.

It happened on a sidewalk at 89th Avenue and 217th Street in Queens Village.

The robber stole approximately $4,200 from the victim’s pocket before fleeing.

The victim was treated in hospital for bleeding and lacerations to his head.
