Smoke and flames were seen in northern New Mexico as red flag warnings continued to apply to the area on Wednesday, May 11. Footage released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Fire Department shows smoke and flames north of Mora, New Mexico, as crews travel along Highway 434 on Tuesday. The Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon wildfires had expanded to 236,939 acres and were at 33 percent containment by May 11, according to official reports.
