Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan have reportedly signed a deal to appear in an upcoming reality show similar to Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie‘s simple life†
According to a new report, the Real Housewives of New York City Alum are expected to begin filming the new series in July in Central America, where they’ll see them rub elbows with “the common people” and enjoy visits from yet-to-be-named celebrity guests.
“Luann and Sonja will of course be their fantastic selves and in each episode they will interact with the locals,” an insider told Page Six on June 6. “They don’t know the locations yet, but it will be somewhere like Kansas or Nebraska, not some hipster town in the south. [Executives] even held the locations of the girls until the last minute. †
According to the report, the new show, which will be the only spin-off from RHONY that doesn’t happen Bethenny Frankel as the lead, is technically under development, but is expected to be green-lit once the paperwork is already signed.
The report also noted that the unnamed series will have about 10 episodes and will air on Bravo or Peacock.
In others RHONY news, Sonja recently spoke about her future with the franchise.
“Wherever I go, people wonder when is… RHONY come back?” she revealed to Showbiz Cheat Sheet earlier this month. “Me too! I want to come back to it because I haven’t worked on the show since last summer. So stick with it. Good news is coming.”
“There are too many of us, very talented girls from Real Housewives of New York … You know, 13 seasons. I’ve been on the show for 12 years. I came [on the show] in season 3. The other girls have been doing it longer. Ramona and Luann and…trust that they don’t just let such intellectual property pass by,” she continued.
When Sonja is cast on the RHONY: inheritancethose former cast members of . will follow RHONY since the original series has been completely recast, she said fans will see her again in her infamous $10.75 million Upper East Side mansion when her tenants’ lease expires.
“When I start filming again, I’ll be back home!” she laughed. “People will be like, ‘What?'”
Sonja and her clothing line may also be featured in Century 21, which reopened in May after previously filing for bankruptcy.
“If they come back and I can go with them, it’s good for the community. Everyone loved the store and I would love to film with them again,” she said.
In March, in an interview with Us Weekly, Luann said she would like to participate in the upcoming Legacy series and noted that her dream cast would include: Jill Zarin† Dorinda Medley, and Kelly Bensimon†
“If they want me back I’m all on board because I really enjoy being back with all our old friends,” she said at the time.
