Summer reading program kick-off

Aspen Drive Library in Vernon Hills and Cook Park Library in Libertyville will celebrate the start of Summer Readings Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The kick-off in both buildings consists of prizes, treats and crafts. You can also enroll in the Summer Reading Program to earn points and prizes for completing various activities. Children through eighth grade can earn a free book; high school students get a book and enter the Amazon gift card drawing of the grand prize; and adults are given a notebook to record their reading and entered into a local corporate gift card draw. Register with the libraries or to earn points for completing various activities.
