Your guide to grocery delivery in Canberra during lockdown

With the news that major supermarket chains are waiting up to a week for local deliveries, there are plenty of local grocery delivery options available in Canberra during the lockdown.

There are now 12,500 close contacts in quarantine across Canberra, with 10,500 linked to ACT clusters and the remaining 2,000 linked to interstate outbreaks.

All these households immobilized due to quarantine demands have put pressure on food and grocery delivery services.

If you’re stuck at home, don’t worry, many local grocers offer delivery!

Below is a comprehensive list of local supermarkets that offer delivery across Canberra and will be expanded over time.


Red Baron pantry

One of Symonston’s favorite cafes has been doing delivery boxes since the start of the pandemic!

With an assortment of product boxes, groceries, BBQ boxes complete with sausages and beer, grazing boards and a donut gift box, Red Baron pantry seemingly has a box for every occasion!

Their current delivery window is Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Their drivers will send a courtesy message about 30 minutes before arrival.

When choosing your delivery date, it will automatically be set to the 5:00 PM option. Your pantry may arrive earlier.

Arc Organics

Arc Organics delivers to Canberra, Queanbeyan and Googong every Thursday and offers mostly certified organic products, with a small selection of biodynamic, locally grown produce.

Yield boxes are available in a large size for $90 and small for $50.

Both sizes are available as mixed fruits and vegetables, or just vegetables.

Additionally, custom box selections can be curated with your own selection of seasonal and grocery items.

Orders for delivery on Thursday must be in by 09:00 the Tuesday before. Orders are packed and delivered on Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Choku Bai Jo

Canberra’s renowned organic grocers deliver fruit and vegetable boxes to your home in an assortment of sizes with groceries such as milk, bread, eggs, etc. are also available.

The delivery and collection days are Tuesday and Friday.

For Tuesday orders must be received the Saturday before 12:00 noon, for Fridays the order must be received the Wednesday before 12:00 noon.

Regional NSW deliveries will only take place on Tuesdays for now.

Pick up can be requested from their storefronts in Curtin or North Lyneham.

Wiffens

Wiffens offers online shopping 6 days a week (every day except Tuesday) with home delivery and free, contactless in-store pickup at Fyshwick.

There is a wide variety of groceries available, with daily deals also promoted on their website.

Their delivery window is between 7:30 am and 1:30 pm with most deliveries in the morning between 8 am and 11 am.

Orders must be in before 10am for next day delivery or store pick up.

Barton Grocery Store

Barton Grocer offers home delivery within the ACT region Monday through Friday, excluding Queanbeyan and surrounding regions.

They offer both same day and nominated delivery days and ask customers to indicate their preference when ordering.

All orders must be placed before 1pm for same day delivery.

Collection is also possible during office hours from Monday to Friday. Online orders are not processed on weekends.

It’s as easy as filling out a delivery form on their website. You will then be called on the day of delivery if someone is at home.

Ziggy’s Fresh

Ziggy’s offers an assortment of fruit, vegetable and vegetable and fruit boxes in various sizes and price ranges from $50-$120, for singles, couples and families, large and small.

Deliveries take place from Wednesday to Friday from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.

Supabarn Crace

Supabarn Crace offers a home delivery service 7 days a week, daily between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. In addition, there is a daily click & collect service from 1 pm to 6 pm.

They offer home delivery to Crace, Palmerston, Franklin, Mitchell, Harrison, Gungahlin, Kaleen, Giralang, Lawson, Nicholls, Ngunnawal, McKellar, Moncreiff, Forde, Bonner, Amaroo, Casey, Throsby, Taylor and Jacka.
