Sky News Australia presenter Piers Morgan says watching the first day of the platinum anniversary celebrations was “incredibly moving and very emotional”.
“It was a great day. I was in the palace all morning and afternoon, watching the proceedings,” he said.
“Here’s this lady, 96 years old, who came out after a lot of health problems, came out on the balcony twice with an absolutely roaring ovation from a packed shopping center.”
Mr Morgan said it appears Her Majesty “loved every minute of it” – even though she won’t be able to attend the thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral.
