Powerball Jackpot Grows to $59 Million

Saturday night’s Powerball draw did not have a grand prize winner for the estimated $51.7 million jackpot with a $29.7 million cash option.

In the next drawing, which will take place on Monday, the jackpot will grow to an estimated $59 million with a cash value of $33.9 million.

The winning lottery numbers drawn on Saturday, May 7, were 4, 5, 6, 28, 67 with a red Powerball of 10. The Power Play was 2X.

There were no grand prize winners after the last draw, but there was a millionaire right away. A player from Georgia won the Match 5 and won $1 million.

If the player had combined the five numbers with a Power Play, he would have won $2 million.

There were 12 people who hit the Match 4 plus red Powerball and won $50,000 each. Meanwhile, eight players were able to hit the Match 4 plus red Powerball with a Power Play and won $100,000 each.

The rest of the evening’s cash winnings ranged between $4 and $200. In total, 496,058 players won prizes from Saturday night’s jackpot.

The latest draw comes after a group of eight FedEx employees from North Carolina won a $2 million prize. The group of winners, who claimed the money as The Purple 8, have been playing the lottery together for about three years.

After winning the $2 million prize from Monday, April 25’s drawing, the group took home $177,525 each after required federal and state tax withholding.

Jackpot winners must match the six numbers on their ticket with the six number combination drawn. Five numbers must be selected from 1 to 69 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball.

There is a 1 in 292.2 million chance of winning the Powerball jackpot.
