Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)–Chicken stock cubes are an indispensable ingredient for many meals.
Sometimes rumors circulate about this ingredient, for example that it is carcinogenic.
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority recently responded to this rumor with a tweet on its official Twitter account.
The tweet indicated that the main ingredient in chicken stock cubes is sodium glutamate salt, which is considered a food additive allowed under Saudi technical regulations.
Scientific evidence has not proven the relationship between chicken stock cubes and cancer. However, it is recommended to reduce its use as it contains large amounts of salt.
