Ferdinand Marcos, the son of the late Philippine dictator, looks poised for a landslide victory in the country’s presidential election.

With nearly all the results in, Marcos – known as ‘Bongbong’ – appears to have won more than twice as many votes as his closest challenger.

He insists he doesn’t want to be defined by his ancestors 36 years after his family was ousted by a popular revolution, but critics say Bongbong’s campaign was guided by lies and misinformation about the past.
