Update #1: rod wave has been accused of strangling an ex-girlfriend, according to his arrest affidavit. An arrest warrant accuses him of strangling his ex-girlfriend while their two children were in the house.
According to the affidavit of the arrest warrant, he is charged with domestic violence by strangulation in connection with the incident, which took place on April 24.
The woman told officers she had been sleeping in her bed when she heard the front door open and Wave entered her bedroom, suffocated her until she couldn’t breathe and accused her of talking to other men. Then he left her at home.
He is said to have returned, accusing the woman of stealing his mobile phone and damaging some property.
The woman says they dated for about four years and had two children together. The children were in their own bedroom when the incident took place, she said.
The victim had a scratch “near the left center of her neck,” the affidavit said. She refused medical attention.

The “Tombstone” rapper was reportedly arrested this morning (May 2) in St. Petersburg, Florida, for strangulation, a felony in the state of Florida. Not much is known about the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
rod golf, 22, fans were concerned after he posted a video of himself meeting with police while in his hometown. It appears that the video was recorded just before he was arrested on Monday.
Reports say this isn’t the first time rod wave has run afoul of the law. The rapper “Chip On My Shoulder” was first arrested in 2014 as a teenager in connection with a burglary. After that case was dropped, Wave was arrested in 2016 when he was caught with a shotgun in his backpack after taking a photo with the weapon and causing his school to be locked. He was only given probation on the felony charge.
In 2018, the Florida rapper was reportedly arrested again for carrying a concealed weapon, but did not serve a significant prison sentence.
rod wave is currently in custody at the St. Petersburg Police Station.
