Lincoln Police: Sixth person dies in fatal crash

According to officers, the initially injured woman succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

Lincoln police said a sixth person was killed in a single-vehicle accident on the 5600 block of Randolph Street in east Lincoln. Officers said the 24-year-old woman who was taken to hospital early Sunday morning died of her injuries. The other five occupants of the vehicle, all between the ages of 21 and 23, died at the scene. According to a press release from the Lincoln Police Department, they were in a black Honda Accord that hit a tree. First responders were notified at 2:16 a.m. by one of the resident’s iPhones. A recording revealed that the phone’s owner had a serious accident and was unresponsive. Lincoln police have not yet released the names of those involved.
