Pair arrested for evading police in Hoppers Crossing

Two people have been arrested in Hoppers Crossing, after allegedly evading police at high speed.

Officers tied to pull over a blue Ford Focus along Heaths Road at around 1.30am Monday, but the driver reportedly refused to stop.

Police called in the Air Wing to follow the vehicle which was allegedly reaching speeds up to 170km/h.

Stop sticks were then used along the Calder Freeway, successfully stopping the vehicle, where a man and woman were arrested.

A 25-year-old Emu Creek woman has been charged and bailed with drug and weapon offenses.

A 27-year-old Bendigo man is in custody and expected to face court later today.
